ATH, $DTF, DTFs to launch, Solana! And MORE!

Woah! You go on holiday and it all kicks off doesn’t it? Things have certainly been happening on the Reserve front — so grab your favourite 70s chocolate bar and let’s head into a quick catchup….

We go all the way back to 2020 — yes, 4 long years ago…

Now the app is Ugly Cash and to an extent Sentz (more later)

3 years ago, we had a redesign and an iOS teaser

2022 brought us a truefi plugin bounty

And rounding things off with last year, we saw TVL in it’s infancy

Yes, that’s about $25M in RTokens — total TVL was $36M a year ago. Today it’s $329M — that’s a 9.1x — impressive stuff.

We also saw the swap from Moby to Sentz

$DTF / DTFs

Well — what can I say? That escalated quickly. For those of you who have been on Mars (or in Mexico for that matter), $DTF is a memecoin launched on Solana ‘for fun’ :

Nevin bought some and before you could say ‘down to have fun’ things went viral

There’s a twitter account and Telegram channels so special mention goes to https://x.com/MemeIndexer

So the idea is $DTF brings attention to DTFs — DeFi Traded Funds — which Reserve will be enabling soon via a change to the protocol so that volatile assets can be mixed together to form ‘funds’ and MemeIndexer will create a meme fund of meme tokens.

This has got a crazy amount of attention so is a great way to advertise DTFs

Thomas announced at unStable Summit — DTFs — to little fanfare

But now? Well thousands of people are in the Telegram groups,

Twitter is alight with $DTF and even DeFi Twitter accounts are highlighting it

So — memecoin and lot’s of buzz — tick. So what are these DTFs then?

So they :

have professional decentralised curation
have automatic rebalancing
are securely built on the Reserve Protocol

Ok real world example — memeindex, but maybe also gold, bitcoin and SP500 in 1 token, or an AI index, or whatever you can think of — all in 1 click.

I think it’s great and we’ll truly see people experiment on DTFs on Reserve and it’ll go off.

What role RSR? Not sure yet — stay tuned

To think this is less than a month old is crazy.

TVL

Back to earth now, and TVL — but wait, yet another ATH

Back on the 8th November we hit $254M! Ok, so the market has taken a lot of that as the price of ETH and RSR rise, so does TVL — how much ETH in the protocol? A lot — see ETH+ as an example

Nearly $200M alone in ETH+ — woah. And bsdETH has been growing a lot lately as well.

Reserve still #1 index in DeFi but as you can see — less stabletoken based projects are booming.

So as they say, DTF popularity means Solana can’t be ignored — so the Protocol will be out on the Solana blockchain — memes or no.
